Deadpool & Wolverine is all about laughs, brutal action and crazy Marvel cameos, but the movie gets emotional in one brief tribute at the end of the movie.

The threequel, which sees Ryan Reynolds' Deadpool and Hugh Jackman's Wolverine teaming up to save their universe, is now out in cinemas, promising to be the biggest release of the summer.

If you went to the cinema and stayed until the very end of the credits, you might be wondering who are the two people the MCU movie is dedicated to.

Deadpool & Wolverine's tribute explained: Who was Raymond Chan?

Deadpool & Wolverine includes a tribute to art director and production designer Raymond Chan, who passed away in April this year.

"This film is dedicated to the memory of Raymond Chan. Ray was our anchor being. His contribution to this film and so many others was a gift which was never taken for granted and will never be forgotten. We'll miss you, Ray," reads the tribute.

Before working as a production designer on Deadpool & Wolverine, Chan worked in multiple MCU movies including Avengers: Endgame, Guardians of the Galaxy and Spider-Man: Far From Home, as well as Disney+ series The Falcon and The Winter Soldier.

What to Read Next

On April 26, Ryan Reynolds shared an emotional goodbye message to Ray Chan on Twitter/X.

"Words are pretty inadequate in comparison to this loss," he wrote.

"There's an incomparable reservoir of skill, tender grit and talent no longer with us. As Production Designer, he was as important a creative force on Deadpool & Wolverine as the writers, director and stars.

"I don't pretend to know every chapter of Ray's heart, but I know it's unusual to encounter someone with that level of artistry, who simultaneously moved through the world with such an indelible humanity. He built entire worlds from scratch – and did so in the most collaborative and inclusive ways. Ray was peerless. And just awesome to be around," he added.

Ray Chan is not the only person who is remembered at the end of Deadpool & Wolverine.

Who was Henry Delaney?

Following Ray Chan's tribute, Deadpool & Wolverine ends with the words: "For Henry Delaney."

Henry was the son of actor Rob Delaney, who plays Peter in the movie. He passed away in 2018 at the age of two after a battle with brain cancer.

"Henry was a joy. He was smart, funny, and mischievous and we had so many wonderful adventures together, particularly after he'd moved home following fifteen months living in hospitals," Delaney wrote in a message on Facebook following Henry's passing.

The Catastrophe actor opened up about his loss in his biography A Heart That Works, which was published in 2023.
