Twilight star Elizabeth Reaser has confirmed she is now married to long-term partner Bruce Gilbert.

The actor, who played Esme Cullen in all five instalments of the series, has been in a relationship since 2017, and revealed to Vogue that the couple tied the knot with a low-key ceremony in the Amalfi Coast last year.

“Originally, we were making these huge lists of people to invite but we realised pretty quickly it didn’t feel right for us. So, we decided to elope instead, with a couple of friends as witnesses,” revealed Reaser, before recalling how she chose her wedding dress.

“I was trying desperately to be chill about it [the dress], but I couldn’t find anything that felt like me. To be fair, I never actually went to a store because I am allergic to trying clothes on. I don’t like fittings because of my acting life so I was trying to avoid that process.”

Reaser continued by revealing she spotted the perfect dress online, but was initially disheartened to discover that it wasn’t due to be released until 2024. After some persistence, she managed to secure the dress earlier.

The star also got a stroke of luck regarding her hair and makeup, with Jillian Halouska and Nicole Blais happening to be on the Amalfi Coast at the time. She referred to the pair as “angels”, with the actor opting for a “minimal” look for the big day.

“I can’t believe how lucky I am that they [Jillian and Nicole] were willing to do it,” said Reaser. “They are so brilliant and kind and cool. It’s such an emotional day, and they made me feel so good.”
