Disney has confirmed the release dates for its next batch of films, with Toy Story 5 and Star Wars' spin-off The Mandalorian and Grogu receiving summer 2026 releases.
According to Variety, the studio has confirmed that The Mandalorian & Grogu will hit cinemas on May 22, 2026, while the fifth instalment of the Toy Story franchise will premiere on June 19, 2026.
The announcement also confirmed that the live action remake of 2016's Moana received a new release date, with the film now expected to hit cinemas on July 10, 2026 instead of 2025 as originally planned.

Meanwhile Moana's animated sequel is still scheduled to be released this November, with the new live-action release date giving just under a two year wait between the two films.
Toy Story 5 and The Mandalorian and Grogu's release dates follows on from a previous announcement confirming their 2026 release window alongside confirmation that Frozen 3 would also be released that same year.
Disney's decision to move The Mandalorian from Disney+ to the big screen reaffirms its plans to shift back into making Star Wars films after focusing on spin-off series.
Starring Pedro Pascal as the titular lone bounty hunter Din Djarin, the action series first premiered back in 2019 and gained both popular and critical acclaim, in part due to his father-son relationship with rescued Jedi foundling Grogu.

The Mandalorian and Grogu isn't the only Star Wars film in the works either, with Disney and Lucasfilm also focusing on reviving the Skywalker Saga by having Daisy Ridley reprise her role as Rey.
Directed by Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy, the new movie will take place around 15 years after the events of The Rise of Skywalker and follow Rey as she works to rebuild the Jedi Order, while James Mangold is also working on a film which heads back to the dawn of the Jedi.
Toy Story 5, Frozen 3, Moana and The Mandalorian and Grogu will all be released in 2026.
