Jean Grey returns in Wolverine Vine teaser

The Wolverine director James Mangold has tweeted a six-second Vine teasing the film's forthcoming trailer.

The clip show Hugh Jackman's Marvel antihero battling ninjas in Japan and also confirms the return of Jean Grey (Famke Janssen) to the X-Men series.

Janssen, who has played Jean Grey in three X-Men films, revealed in January that she was "waiting by the phone" to hear if she was needed for new instalments.

"It would be very surreal," she said. "I would be honoured to be a part of any of these X-Men movies. It would be great."

The Wolverine is based on Chris Claremont and Frank Miller's 1982 limited comic series, and sees the character heading to Japan to confront a figure from his past.

The Wolverine will open in UK and US cinemas on July 26.
