Wednesday star Jenna Ortega's new movie Miller's Girl has set an unfortunate record for the actress.
The thriller has just hit US cinemas but it's failed to impress critics and is currently sitting on a 25% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, making it the lowest-scoring film for the actress so far.
Miller's Girl, which released its first trailer last month, is the directorial debut from Jade Halley Bartlett and sees Ortega star opposite Black Panther's Martin Freeman.

The film's synopsis reads: "A talented young writer (Jenna Ortega) embarks on a creative odyssey when her teacher (Martin Freeman) assigns a project that entangles them both in an increasingly complex web.
"As lines blur and their lives intertwine, professor and protégé must confront their darkest selves while straining to preserve their individual sense of purpose and the things they hold most dear."
But, according to critics, Miller's Girl doesn't quite make the grade. The Wall Street Journal wrote in their review: "Only a generous grader would award this script anything better than a D-plus."

The New York Times called it "a work of glaring artifice", adding: "Miller’s Girl, written and directed by Jade Halley Bartlett, is being touted as a psychological thriller, but it’s too vapid and silly to do much besides titillate."
Similarly, Variety said the film "delivers a tale whose transgressions are stylish but disappointingly predictable, one written with skillful knowledge of form but not the maturity to implement it with originality".
The Tribune News Service described the film as "pure unintentional camp, striking that wild, so-bad-it’s-entertaining chord vigorously", before adding: "I can’t recommend Miller’s Girl but I also can’t recommend it enough."
Meanwhile, Ortega is currently working on action-comedy Death of a Unicorn, opposite Ant-Man's Paul Rudd.
The film sees Ortega and Rudd play a father and daughter who accidentally run over a unicorn while driving to a weekend retreat.
Miller's Girl will premiere in US cinemas on January 26, 2024.
