This Is Us star Chris Sullivan's new movie Presence has debuted with a 100% rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

Directed by Steven Soderbergh, the psychological thriller stars Sullivan and Lucy Liu as a married couple who move into a new home with their children — only to realise they aren't the only ones living there.

The story is uniquely filmed from the ghost's point of view, with a camera moving through the house as an apparition.

The script is penned by David Koepp, with Tell Me Everything's Callina Liang, Julia Fox, Eddy Maday and West Mulholland also starring in the movie.

What to Read Next

Rolling Stone

"Soderbergh has never met a genre he didn't want to deconstruct, taffy-pull or ransack for some sort of aesthetic experiment; he's one of the few filmmakers you could imagine wearing a lab coat when he directs."

Screen International

"A juicy setup that provides the adventurous filmmaker with an opportunity to play around with form while delivering elegant shivers of dread."

The Hollywood Reporter

"It's an invigorating feeling to know early on in a movie that you're in confident hands, and Steven Soderbergh conveys that assurance instantaneously in the opening moments of Presence."

The Daily Beast

"The director's latest is distinctly cool, dynamic Soderbergian riff on Michael Powell's Peeping Tom via The Haunting, with a dash of Paranormal Activity sprinkled around its edges."

Vulture

"It's an art film that also works as a spellbinding horror film, and it might be the best thing Soderbergh has done in ages."

Bloody Disgusting

"Presence pulls you in, terrifies you, then leaves your heart on the floor. This ghost story doesn't scare in the conventional sense, but it's an innovative and grim nail-biter with more on its mind than the logline suggests."

Presence doesn't have a release date yet.
