The release date of Disney's Snow White remake has been delayed by a year, as a first-look image for the film has been revealed.

The upcoming live-action film, which stars West Side Story's Rachel Zegler, will now be released on March 21, 2025 as a result of the ongoing SAG-AFTRA strikes.

Rotten Tomatoes announced the delay on X — formerly Twitter — where a first-look image was also shared. The statement read: Our first look at Rachel Zegler as #SnowWhite. The Disney live-action remake has been delayed one year and will now release on March 21, 2025."

The Hollywood actors' strike continues as SAG-AFTRA and the AMPTP, which represents over 350 studios and production companies, have yet to reach a deal.

The WGA strike has recently ended, but many movies and TV shows remain delayed until a deal between SAG-AFTRA and industry CEOs has been agreed.

The remake's lead actress Zegler was photographed last year after she stepped into the role of Snow White for the film. The actress was seen wearing the Princess' iconic blue and yellow gown paired with comfy UGG boots whilst taking a break from filming.

Zegler was announced in the role in June 2021, where she will star alongside Wonder Woman's Gal Gadot who will become the Evil Queen, as well as Andrew Burnap who plays new character Jonathan.

The reimagining is directed by The Amazing Spider-Man movies director Marc Webb and co-written by Barbie director Greta Gerwig and The Girl on the Train scriptwriter Erin Cressida Wilson.

Disney's Snow White will be released on March 21, 2025.
