Stranger Things actor Joe Keery's newest project Marmalade has released its first image.

Marmalade is a crime romance that sees Keery's character Baron fall in love with a girl named Marmalade, played by Valley Girl's Camila Morrone, and plan a Bonnie and Clyde-style bank heist in order to take care of his sick mother and give themselves a decent life.

Things don't go to plan however, and he ends up in prison, where he reminisces about his story to fellow inmate Otis, played by Black Adam's Aldis Hodge, as the two of them hatch an escape plan. As you can see, the image focuses on Baron and Marmalade together, about to share a kiss in a restaurant (or a diner, if you prefer).

Variety quotes producer Marc Goldberg as saying: "Marmalade has been a beautiful collaboration with filmmaker and crew. We are excited for the brilliant Joe Keery to star alongside rising star Camila Morrone in this thrilling story and look forward to launching it for buyers at the market."

Interestingly, the film is the directorial debut of actor Keir O'Donnell, who previously starred in the Fargo TV series as Ben Schmidt in season 2. While Keery has actually been cast for the upcoming fifth season of the show, which will be set in 2019 and follows a kidnapping of sorts.

Of course, he'll also be returning as Steve Harrington for the fifth and final season of Stranger Things.

Recently, the Duffer brothers spoke about how the upcoming episodes will tie everything together, narratively and tonally. They stated: "The way we see it, [season 5] is kind of a culmination of all the seasons, so it’s got a little bit from each.

"I think that what we’re trying to do is go back to the beginning a little bit, in sort of the tone of [season] one. But also scale-wise, it’s more aligned with what [season] four is. So, hopefully, it’s got a little bit of everything."

Stranger Things seasons 1-4 are now streaming worldwide on Netflix.
