Fast & Furious's Vin Diesel has revealed that he would love for Robert Downey Jr to be a part of Fast & Furious 11. And he knows just the part for him too.

In a new interview with Variety as a part of the Fast X trailer release, the actor said that he sees Robert Downey Jr's supposed character as the "antithesis of Dom". Dom being Diesel's character, Dominic Toretto.

When asked who Robert Downey Jr could play, he said: "There’s a character, that—without telling you too much about what happens in the future—there's a character who is the antithesis of Dom, who is promoting AI and driverless cars and a philosophy that with that goes your freedom.

"There is somebody that believes that's the future and that's at direct odds with the Toretto mentality," he added.

When asked if he has pitched this to the Iron Man legend yet, he growled jokingly, saying: "How dare you ask me this question in front of all these people?! I have pride, and I have dignity,' before laughing and walking away.

Fast & Furious 11 is still a world away, but we do finally have a trailer for the highly anticipated Fast X, which counts almost everyone from the entire Fast & Furious franchise in its roster, as well as Jason Momoa, who plays villain Dante, and new additions, Oscar winners Brie Larson and Rita Moreno.

The nearly four-minute-long trailer is packed with surprises for Fast & Furious fans – not least a connection to Fast Five. Mainly, that Momoa's Dante is linked to the fifth movie's villain Reyes (more on that here).

Fast X debuts in cinemas on May 19, 2023.
