Transformers' seventh instalment has dropped its first trailer, and things look pretty intense.
The film, called Transformers: Rise of the Beasts, is set to premiere on June 9, 2023, giving us plenty of time to rewatch all the previous movies in the franchise as preparation.
The trailer opens with Anthony Ramos, who you'll recognise from In the Heights, making his Transformers debut as Noah. We're also later introduced to Dominique Fishback, and a host of other new characters both human and robot.

Quickly, things get really interesting.
Titles on screen explain: "For millions of years our world has transformed, but something else has awakened."

An exciting introduction then comes in the form of Optimus Primal, leader of the Maximals (who, rather than turning into vehicles, turn into animals.)
Thankfully, it seems that the robotic – and massive – gorilla is on our side, telling Optimus Prime: "I'm not the one to fear… there is a darkness coming."
Sounds ominous.
The trailer then shows what seems to be a war between transformers, with certain Autobots quite literally taking the wheel, attacking humans and robots alike.

As Optimus Primal states: "Of all the threats from both your past and future, you've never faced anything like this."
The short trailer, although not giving too much away, does show that the scope of this movie will be huge. Not only does the plot setting switch between the US and Peru, but battle scenes seem to take place on a much larger and more dramatic scale than ever before.
Fans of the series seem suitably excited to see their favourite characters return alongside new faces, in what seems to be the highest-stakes Transformers film yet.
Transformers: Rise of the Beasts is set for release on June 9, 2023.
