Wednesday star Christina Ricci may be a central part of many people's cinema-going childhoods with her role in the 1995 classic Casper – but the actress isn't really happy with her performance in it.
Christina, who also stars in Yellowjackets, played Kat Harvey in the sweet story of everybody's favourite friendly ghost. But almost 30 years later, she's come to terms with her performance, which she described as "terrible".
In a recent appearance on the WTF with Marc Maron podcast, Ricci said: "If you actually watch Casper, I'm terrible in it. People get so upset when I say that.

"I'm like, 'No, it's a wonderful movie,' because it's a childhood treasure to people, but I am terrible in it," she continued. "I was 13. There was a lot going on in my life. Everything was very difficult."
Opening up about her experience as a young actress, Ricci added that she thought she didn't try as hard as she "should" have in the role.

"I was just always annoyed, and I just don't think I tried very hard, to tell you the truth. Embarrassingly, I have to say, I don't think I tried as hard as maybe I should have," she said.
"Not a lot of commitment. It took me a long time to parent myself into becoming a functional adult."
In what will hopefully be a more enjoyable experience for her, Ricci will be heading back to her spooky roots in Tim Burton's live-action Addams Family series for Netflix.
Wednesday, which recently finished filming in Romania, stars Scream's Jenna Ortega in the titular role once played by Ricci in 1991's The Addams Family and 1993's Addams Family Values.

Officially on board the spin-off as a mysterious series regular, Ricci previously offered fans a hint at what they can expect from the re-imagining.
"I just finished it two weeks ago, and it was great," she said earlier this year. "It was great working with Tim, and Jenna is amazing. I think people are going to absolutely love her as Wednesday."
