Marvel's Eternals star Patton Oswalt may have spoiled a sequel announcement.
Oswalt showed up in a post-credit scene of the first movie as Pip the Troll alongside Harry Styles' Starfox as a tease of what lies ahead for the Eternals in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
It has been expected that the Eternals would have a significant role in cosmic events surrounding Avengers: The Kang Dynasty in 2025, but a sequel announcement was missing on the MCU's Phase 5 slate at Comic-Con International.

It sounds like Kevin Feige and his team are definitely working on more for The Eternals with director Chloé Zhao, thanks to a slip by Patton Oswalt during an appearance this week on NBC's TODAY.
"They have announced there's going to be an Eternals sequel. Chloé Zhao is going to direct it," he told Al Roker. "So, hopefully there will be more adventures of Starfox and Pip."
Maybe not after that spoiler, Patton!
That said, if anyone could get away with spoiling a Marvel release date announcement, it's probably Patton Oswalt. The comedian is a Marvel super-fan and frequently works with the studio, having played the Koenig siblings in Agents of SHIELD and also lent his voice as the title character in MODOK.
Kevin Feige did recently confirm that "the adventures of" Starfox (or Eros) and Pip were very important to Marvel going forward in the Multiverse Saga and beyond.
It is certainly possible an announcement about Eternals 2 could happen next month at Disney's D23 convention, where Marvel is set to present its slate alongside Lucasfilm and Pixar.
The first Eternals received a mixed reaction from both fans and critics last year, though director Chloé Zhao has said she expected the movie to challenge MCU audiences.
"The film itself is about existential crisis, both for humanity and God. So I think we definitely felt [a divided opinion] was coming," she told Empire.
For now, Avengers: The Kang Dynasty will release on May 2, 2025. Avengers: Endgame is out now on DVD, Blu-ray, 3D, 4K and digital download, and is available on Disney+.
