Stranger Things star has an iconic Disney movie role in Lightyear

You may recognise Tom Wlaschiha as Stranger Things' Dmitri 'Enzo' Antonov – you may even remember him as Jaqen H'ghar in Game of Thrones – but the actor has another, potentially even more iconic role under his belt.

In news that will hopefully come in handy at a pub quiz one day, Wlaschiha has (sort of) landed the role of the eponymous hero in Pixar's new movie, Lightyear.

The Toy Story spin-off, which serves as an origin story for Andy's beloved toy Buzz, sees Marvel's Chris Evans voice the role – but in different languages, the dialogue is dubbed by a native speaker.

Speaking to The Upcoming at Lightyear's recent premiere, Tom opened up about the practicalities of the role and how the process of dubbing works.

"Well, obviously, you watch the original before you start dubbing, but then it's always an interpretation," the actor explained.

"You have to find your own way of acting the character and it was a process at the studio, and it's been fun."

Speaking of Lightyear, the English-speaking space ranger Chris Evans recently spoke to Digital Spy about which role he found more daunting: Buzz Lightyear or Captain America.

"At first, it was Captain America just because there were so many people who had an idea of the character and I thought jumping that hurdle would be tall enough," the actor told us.

"But now trying to fill these shoes is just as daunting, so I don't know if I even have an answer."

Lightyear, which also stars the likes of Keke Palmer, Taika Waititi, and Uzo Aduba, serves as a so-called real-life story of Buzz Lightyear, who inspired the toy seen in the original Toy Story franchise.

The movie sets Buzz up to have plenty more adventures, and with an infinity and beyond out there, there are galaxies of possibilities about where the character could go next.

Unsurprisingly, Digital Spy asked director Angus MacLane about the possibility of a sequel, and although he didn't confirm or deny if a Lightyear 2 would happen, he said that one definitely could.

Mind you, following Lightyear's lukewarm opening weekend at the box office, we're not entirely sure we'll get the chance to see Buzz – and Sox – blast off into space a second time.
