Rachel McAdams' next project – the adaptation of Judy Blume's book Are You There God? It's Me, Margaret – has been pushed back by seven months.
As reported by Deadline, the Lionsgate movie based on the 1970 novel was scheduled for release on September 16 this year, but will now open on April 28, 2023.
The comedy-drama follows 11-year-old Margaret (Abby Ryder Fortson) as she's uprooted from her life in New York City and moves to the suburbs of New Jersey, all the while going through the challenges of adolescence, from handling a new school and trying to make friends to spin the bottle, bras and buying tampons.

Margaret relies on her mother Barbara (McAdams), who is also struggling with leaving the big city, and her adoring grandmother, Kathy Bates' Sylvia, who makes a trio of women unhappy with the move away.
Good Time and Uncut Gems filmmaker Benny Safdie also appears as Simon, Margaret's father.
Lionsgate recently showcased footage from the long-awaited feature, directed by The Edge of Seventeen's Kelly Fremon Craig, during a presentation at this year's CinemaCon and it drew a strong positive reaction.
When talking to The Hollywood Reporter about the role, the Doctor Strange star said: "She's [Barbara] got a more supporting part in the book, and it's a little bit more developed in the script.

"I felt like Kelly [Fremon Craig, the director] drew a mother that was on a parallel journey with her daughter and trying to be a mum, but also be a person."
McAdams continued: "[She] is a very supportive mother but also wants to give her child a sense of independence and autonomy and let her go through the wonders of life herself and not cloud those too much with her own ideas of how you should and should not be."
Rachel mentioned how it took author Blume 50 years to find the right team to bring her book to life, saying: "This movie has a real nostalgia to it."
April 2023 is slowly becoming a busy month with the Nicholas Hoult and Nicholas Cage horror-comedy Renfield and a Super Mario project starring Chris Pratt as the Italian plumber set to release that month.
