New Zealand actor and filmmaker Taika Waititi takes on the role of a space ranger in Disney and Pixar's new movie Lightyear, but could we see more of his character in the future?
He stars alongside Captain America actor Chris Evans, who plays the titular role in the Toy Story spin-off film.
While speaking exclusively to Digital Spy at the film's UK premiere, Waititi discussed the potential of a further spin-off about his character Mo Morrison.

"Look, my ego is such that, of course, I'd like anything like that," Waititi confessed when asked if he'd be up for doing a solo story about Mo.
However, the star seemed unsure whether there was enough potential for a full film.
"I'm not sure how much Mo could sustain his own film, I think that might be too much, maybe a short film, maybe a commercial," he remarked.

Sharing his enthusiasm for the new movie, Waititi also reflected on his own personal connection to the Toy Story universe.
"I saw Toy Story when it first came out," he explained. "I was talking to somebody about this, I thought I was a kid. I was 20.
"But the movie and all these Pixar movies, they do something to you as a grown-up that you feel like a kid and you're transported back into those feelings of being open, being emotional, being able to laugh and cry at the same time.
"Honestly, there's not a lot of cinema that I think is that great, but Pixar films consistently have been right up there with perfect filmmaking for me," he added.

Waititi has more Disney-backed projects on the horizon as he wrote and directed upcoming Marvel movie Thor: Love and Thunder.
The Oscar-winning filmmaker also recently confirmed he's begun writing a new Star Wars movie.
Lightyear is out on June 17 in the UK and US.
