Speaking to Entertainment Tonight about the return of Kirby, Scream star Jenny Ortega addressed the idea that she may be a mentor to the newer characters, to which Ortega said: "I am not even gonna try to touch on it.

"All I will say is she has been one of my favourite characters from the Scream franchise for a very long time and I think the fact that her character gets to come back and redeem herself is really exciting."

For those who need a reminder, in the first few films Kirby Reed was close friends with Jill Roberts and Olivia Morris, and fellow student Charlie Walker was seen to have a crush on her, as they were both huge fans of spine-chilling horror films. However, Charlie ended up stabbing her and revealed himself as Ghostface.

Despite the attack, Kirby being alive is canon in the Scream franchise and we will be seeing her in the next film.

Scream 6 hit cinemas on March 31, 2023.
