Fast X's Vin Diesel reveals first look at The Suicide Squad star's Fast & Furious debut

Now that Fast X, the tenth instalment of the Fast & Furious franchise, is in the works, F&F veteran Vin Diesel has shared a first look at newcomer Daniela Melchior.

The Suicide Squad actress' role is yet to be disclosed to the public, but Diesel celebrated her involvement in his most recent Instagram post by sharing a picture of the pair hugging.

In the caption, he wrote: "Iconic originals alongside the new incredible members of our family… Blessed and grateful! @danielamelchior Hope to make you proud! #FastX", to which Melchior replied: "Thank you for making me feel so welcome, safe and at home. let’s goooooo"

Melchior reposted the sweet picture to her page and captioned it: "Proud to be Family.

"Proud to be part of this incredible project that it's not just a movie. It's an experience, it's legacy. Thank you @vindiesel for making me feel at home, on and off set. Now… fas-ten your seat belts and expect the unexpected."

Vin Diesel, Michelle Rodriguez, Tyrese Gibson, Chris 'Ludacris' Bridges, Jordana Brewster, Nathalie Emmanuel, Sung Kang, Michael Rooker, and Charlize Theron will all return for for the blockbuster, while new cast members include Jason Momoa, Rita Moreno, and Brie Larson.

Following Justin Lin's departure earlier this year, the film will be directed by Marvel's Louis Leterrier. Lin will still be involved as a producer, though.

At the time of his departure from the project – what would have been his sixth Fast gig – Lin shared in a statement: "With the support of Universal, I have made the difficult decision to step back as director of FAST X, while remaining with the project as a producer. Over 10 years and five films, we have been able to shoot the best actors, the best stunts, and the best damn car chases.

"On a personal note, as the child of Asian immigrants, I am proud of helping to build the most diverse franchise in movie history. I will forever be grateful to the amazing cast, crew and studio for their support, and for welcoming me into the FAST family."

Fast X arrives in cinemas on May 19, 2023.
