Sky has released the first look at upcoming thriller Borderland from Top Boy creator Ronan Bennett.

Written by Bennett with Tom and Charles Guard (who also direct), the movie stars Merlin's Colin Morgan as a retired Irish paramilitary who witnesses the fatal shooting of his pregnant wife by an SAS officer, played by I May Destroy You's Aml Ameen.

Morgan's character manages to evade the SAS and is presumed dead, but he decides to take his revenge to the streets of 1970s London.

Borderland also starts Rogue One's Felicity Jones, Kingsman's Mark Strong, The Witcher: Blood Origin's Sophia Brown and Avengers: Endgame's Tom Vaughan-Lawlor. It'll be released on Sky Cinema later this year.

Borderland was originally announced in 2020 with John Boyega in Ameen's role and Jack Reynor in Morgan's role. "The best ones take time. Ronan wrote the first draft of Borderland in 2012 and here we are," said producer Chris Coen of Upper Street.
