Encanto has won all of our hearts over the past few months, especially after it was released on Disney+, and it'd be a hard soul not to be moved by its finale.
After the Casita is destroyed, Mirabel manages to bring her family back together and with the help of the community, they manage to rebuild the magical house and Mirabel realises that even without a gift, she's still a special person.
As Stephanie Beatriz told Digital Spy of Encanto's final message: "The miracle is you – all of you, all of you. That line gets repeated a couple of times. And that line could be read a couple of different ways, right?
"All of you – pointing to a group of people. The miracle is all of you guys, right? And the miracle is also all of you – all of who you are; all the parts of you is the miracle. There's no one alive that's ever been just like you, and there won't be again."
The build-up to this finale sees the gorgeous Oscar-nominated song 'Dos Oruguitas' tell the entire story of Abuela's relationship with Pedro. It's after this that Abuela reconciles with Mirabel and without that, the ending wouldn't have as much emotion as it does.

But it turns out that the ending of Encanto could have actually been more heartbreaking as there's a deleted scene that would have drowned us all in tears.

In the movie, Mirabel and Abuela's heartfelt talk happens at the riverbank where Abuela's husband sacrificed himself to save her and their three children. An earlier version of the story changed this key part of the ending by having it take place in the city that Abuela and Pedro fled.
Mirabel heads back there after the Casita is destroyed and Abuela takes it on herself to find her granddaughter. When she arrives in the city, she sees people heading to a mural and when she sees it, she notices that it's dedicated to Pedro and has one of his quotes on it: "To love at all is to love entirely."
After this, she finds Mirabel and her apology plays out in a slightly different way to the movie where she talks about being so afraid of the miracle that she "lost sight of who our miracle was for".
"I chose to leave this city and because of that choice, my husband died. After I lost him, I was so afraid, I couldn't bear the thought of losing anyone else," Abuela tells Mirabel in this deleted scene.
"I thought that if our family was strong enough, if we worked hard enough, I could keep you safe and I realise now that my husband would be so disappointed because of all the people he would have wished to understand his words, it was me, and I am so sorry."
Seeing Pedro in this mural and then hearing Abuela's apology would have been a powerful moment, especially if 'Dos Oruguitas' ended up fitting into this version of the ending as well.
As it is, it's still an emotional scene for Encanto fans to 'enjoy' as we wait for Lin-Manuel Miranda to hopefully release the full seven-minute cut of the finale song 'All of You'.
