Benedict Cumberbatch has addressed his future as Doctor Strange in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
The Oscar-nominee has a pretty busy Marvel schedule in the next few months, with appearances in Spider-Man: No Way Home and his second standalone Doctor Strange outing in the spring.
Beyond that the picture remains somewhat unclear, though it seems that Cumberbatch is open to continuing as long as things remain "interesting and challenging".

He told USA Today: "As long as the character is interesting and challenging and doing fantastic things in the MCU, why not?"
It comes after the actor addressed the reshoots for Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, with the sequel pushed back a year from its original planned release.

"We're in the middle of reshoots," he told Empire magazine. "We're working incredibly hard to make a schedule work to realise the full potential of the film – bits that we want to do better but also bits that were just impossible to do on the day because of logistics, COVID etc.
"We were so delayed in production, because of that. Luckily, not during production too much. Although everything is just a little slower."

Meanwhile, Cumberbatch's No Way Home co-star Tom Holland has addressed his own Marvel future as Spider-Man after producer Amy Pascal recently suggested that the upcoming third film would not be the last Spidey MCU outing.
"Listen, all I'll say is we have some very, very exciting things to be talking about," he told French TV show Quotidien.
"I don't know what those things are or what they will transpire to be, but it looks like it's an incredibly bright future ahead. And, as I've said before, Spider-Man will forever live in me."
Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is due to be released on May 5, 2022.
