Hocus Pocus 2 has added a new star to its cast, with Sam Richardson in line to star in the Disney+ sequel.
The Veep and Marvel's MODOK actor is in final negotiations to appear in the 2022 movie, according to The Hollywood Reporter, though his role remains a mystery at present.
Richardson, who also appeared recently in Ted Lasso, joins returning stars Sarah Jessica Parker, Bette Midler and Kathy Najimy, who are back as the Sanderson sisters.
As for where things will go this time round, the synopsis reads: "Three young women accidentally bring the Sanderson Sisters back to modern-day Salem and must figure out how to stop the child-hungry witches from wreaking a new kind of havoc on the world."
One star that doesn't appear to be returning, however, is Vinessa Shaw, who took on the role of Allison in the original 1993 movie, the actress recently revealing she hadn't heard anything about the project.
"I would love to know more about it," she told ComicBook.com. "I haven't heard anything. So it may be just that it's way [early] in pre-production or it's maybe something entirely different than the original. I haven't heard anything, sadly. Sorry."

Hocus Pocus 2 will be directed by 27 Dresses' Anna Fletcher, who said earlier this year: "Now more than ever, people need to laugh.

Meanwhile, Richardson is also set to reunite with his Tomorrow War co-star Chris Pratt for new action-comedy Stranded Asset, with Pratt set to produce and Richardson set to star and co-write.
Hocus Pocus 2 will be releasing on Disney+ in the autumn of 2022. The original movie is available to stream right now on the service.
