Fantastic Beasts 3 has an official title and, in a magical piece of news for a Wednesday, it's coming to cinemas earlier than we expected.

Warner Bros has confirmed that the third movie is called Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore and instead of its July 2022 release, it'll now be out on April 15, 2022 in cinemas worldwide.

The third movie brings back the majority of the cast from the previous two movies including Eddie Redmayne as Newt Scamander, Jude Law as Albus Dumbledore, Ezra Miller as Credence (aka Aurelius Dumbledore), Alison Sudol as Queenie Goldstein, Dan Fogler as Jacob Kowalski and Katherine Waterston as Tina Goldstein.

Jessica Williams also returns as Ilvermorny professor Eulalie 'Lally' Hicks, while Mads Mikkelsen will make his debut as Gellert Grindelwald following Johnny Depp's exit in the role.

We've even got the first plot details for the third movie as Professor Albus Dumbledore attempts to stop Gellert Grindelwald from seizing control of the wizarding world.

"Unable to stop him alone, he entrusts Magizoologist Newt Scamander to lead an intrepid team of wizards, witches and one brave Muggle baker on a dangerous mission, where they encounter old and new beasts and clash with Grindelwald's growing legion of followers," it reads.

"But with the stakes so high, how long can Dumbledore remain on the sidelines?"

We can't wait.

The third movie has again been directed by David Yates, with JK Rowling and Steve Kloves writing the screenplay.

Back in June, Mikkelsen revealed that he hadn't talked to Depp about the role of Grindelwald before he took it on. "I would've loved to have talked to him about it if I had the chance, but I just don't know him in that sense," he explained.

"But they called me and they were obviously in a hurry, and I loved the script and so said yes. And I know it was controversial for many people, but that's just the way it plays out once in a while."
