Andrew Garfield has once again dispelled rumours that he won't be popping up as Peter Parker in Spider-Man: No Way Home.

While we already know that a number of familiar Spidey faces will be appearing in the upcoming MCU movie, including Alfred Molina's Doc Ock and Willem Dafoe's Green Goblin, the ultimate fan-pleasers would no doubt be Garfield and Tobey Maguire.

A supposed leaked set photo may have confirmed that the two on-screen Parkers are set for cameos amid the multiversal madness, though Garfield carefully handled the question on whether he will appear in a new interview with Variety.

"I understand why people are freaking out about the concept of that because I'm a fan as well," he said. "You can't help but imagine scenes and moments of 'Oh, my God, how f**king cool would it be if they did that?'

"But it's important for me to say on the record that this is not something I'm aware I am involved in.

"But I know I'm not going to be able to say anything that will convince anyone that I don't know what's happening. No matter what I say, I'm f**ked. It's either going to be really disappointing for people or it's going to be really exciting."

Garfield's latest words echo comments from earlier this year, the star saying at the time on the Happy Sad Confused podcast: "Dude, it's f**king hilarious to me. Because it's like... because I do have this Twitter account and I see how often Spider-Man is trending, and it's like people freaking out about a thing and I'm just like, 'Guys...'

"I wish I could just be able to speak to everyone and say, like, 'I recommend that you chill.' I can't speak for anything else apart from myself, they might be doing something. But I ain't got a call."

He added emphatically: "I did not get a call. I would have gotten a call by now, that's all I'm saying. I don't want to rule anything out. Maybe they want to call me and say like, 'Hey, people want this.' Maybe they're doing a market research thing!"

Spider-Man: Far From Home is available now on DVD, Blu-ray and digital download. Spider-Man: No Way Home has a December 17, 2021 release date.
