The Falcon and the Winter Soldier ending spoilers follow.
Marvel has gone and signed up Anthony Mackie for the upcoming much-anticipated Captain America 4.
According to Deadline, the Falcon and the Winter Soldier star "has closed a deal" to appear in the fourth instalment of the Captain America franchise.

Though Mackie has been a part of the Marvel Universe for a while now, this will mark the actor's first time playing the lead in a Captain America movie. However, it's not yet been revealed if Captain America 4 will feature Mackie's co-star, Sebastian Stan.
As fans will know, the two appeared alongside each other in the Disney+ series The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, with Stan playing James 'Bucky' Barnes/Winter Soldier/White Wolf, while Mackie appeared as Sam Wilson/Falcon/Captain America.
The Falcon and the Winter Soldier season 1 ended with Sam Wilson taking on the mantle of Captain America after being hand-picked by the superhero. The ending ultimately meant Mackie was plagued by rumours there would be a Captain America 4 with him in the lead role, which previously went to Chris Evans.
It was then confirmed in April that the movie was in development.
The actor tried to play things down in May though, claiming he wasn't told about the project ahead of time. "I didn't get a call or email – nothing," Mackie told Variety, admitting the first time he heard about the movie was while he was at the supermarket and a fan asked him if it was happening.
"He knew the whole break down of everything before I did. I hadn't heard anything. I'm like, 'Dude, you got breaking news in the grocery store!'" he teased.
The Falcon and the Winter Soldier is streaming exclusively on Disney+. Captain America 4 has no current release date.
