Fast & Furious star Jordana Brewster – who plays Dom's sister Mia Toretto – has admitted that she was disappointed with her character in the fourth movie.
Ahead of Fast 9's release later this month, Jordana spoke with Collider about her character's evolution, saying that she disliked how Mia had become "kind of prissy" in the series' fourth entry, Fast & Furious.
"I've seen 5 again, I've seen 1 again, I haven't re-watched 4, but to me it's very grey," she said of the 2009 movie. "It's set in LA, Paul [Walker]'s in a suit, I'm in this red dress and I have bangs and I'm just very sad and pissed off at him.

"I just feel like I don't remember that one super fondly."
Fortunately, Mia is well and truly back in the driver's seat for F9, with Jordana promising fans that not only is the latest title "really, really good", but that she also gets "a little more action".
"But yes, it's always a bummer when I'm not – as I've said, I love being part of the action," she continued. "I don't just like being a talking head, talking with the boys. It's fun to get in there and get dirty."
Jordana's not totally against the Fast movies prioritising plot over action, though, as the actress went on to compare the best parts of F9 with 2011's Fast Five.

"5 had every element in it. It had the, 'OK, we're gonna build a family', it also had the, 'We're gonna go out there and kick ass and we're gonna get fearless', and 'Both of you shut up and stop arguing and we're gonna come together'," she explained.
"It had all of those elements in a really sort of nice, cohesive way and we're getting back to that with 9."
Fast & Furious 9 is out in UK cinemas on June 24 and in US cinemas on June 25.
