Fast & Furious 9 finally arrives in UK cinemas next week and we can reveal Peaky Blinders star Finn Cole's role in the new movie.

Cole was confirmed to be joining the cast in July 2019, but his role was kept under the hood. With the movie now out in certain countries of the world though, certain details are creeping out – although fortunately not about how Han returns.

Digital Spy can confirm that Cole is playing the younger version of Jakob Toretto, the previously unheard-of Toretto brother played by John Cena who causes havoc for Dom and his familia in Fast & Furious 9.

As for how big of a role Cole plays in the movie, it remains to be seen, but he had previously called it a "small role", even if it was "quite an important role". "It's probably not what people are expecting," he added.

Cole playing the younger version of Cena? Yep, we'd call that a bit unexpected.

Vin Diesel had previously teased that Fast & Furious 9 will make you "understand the first movie even more", so it makes sense that the new outing would delve into Dom's past, especially as Jakob has just resurfaced.

What to Read Next

"I'm a [Dungeons & Dragons] head, so that's like origin stuff. So to see family members you never thought you would have seen, it's gonna kind of blow your mind," he explained last month.

"We've been wanting to know, where was Dom before he became Dom? Who were his influences? That's going to be really rich with story, and a lot of fun to see."

At least we now don't have too much longer to wait to find out exactly where Jakob has been all these years and why Dom has never mentioned him, giving how much he loves talking about family.

Fast & Furious 9 will be released in UK cinemas on June 24 and US cinemas on June 25.
