Marvel Cinematic Universe hero Tom Holland has revealed that filming on the Uncharted movie "is going so well".

After various delays, the big-screen adaptation of the beloved video game is finally in production, with Holland portraying treasure hunter Nathan Drake (in his youth, obvs) and Mark Wahlberg starring as his mentor Victor Sullivan.

Holland's update arrived via an Instagram Live video yesterday (September 13), when the actor was bored on his day off.

Responding to one fan's question, he shared: "Filming is going so well, it is going so well. The film is, like, everything I ever dreamed it would be. You know, I don't know if you guys played the games but I was such a huge fan of the games and it's been going so well.

"I do have the biggest bruise of all time though, on my leg, but it's in a bit of a revealing area for Instagram Live – I think I would get shut down by Instagram, but yeah, it is a glorious bruise."

Previously, the Spider-Man actor admitted that his Uncharted movie won't be a direct remake of the games.

"I have been approached with different versions of this tale and have always been not that interested in it because I didn't really want to trace the game," he said.

"I didn't really feel like it was at all worthy of making a video game adaptation, if we're just gonna copy what the game is and just serve people a lesser experience than what they've experienced in such an incredible way."

Uncharted swings into cinemas on October 8, 2021. Spider-Man: Far From Home is available now on DVD, Blu-ray and digital download. A third Spider-Man movie starring Tom Holland has a release date of December 17, 2021.
