Marvel star Jake Gyllenhaal appears to have his next big movie lined-up, with the actor likely to appear in Snow Blind.

The Spider-Man: Far From Home actor is attached to star in the adaptation of the graphic novel by Ollie Masters (The Kitchen), Deadline reports.

Gustav Möller, who helmed the 2018 Danish thriller The Guilty, will oversee the movie and make his English-language debut, while A Monster Calls writer Patrick Ness will write the screenplay.

Snow Blind follows a boy who discovers his parents are in the witness protection programme, with the adaptation being pitched as Prisoners meets Running on Empty.

Gyllenhaal's last big project was 2019's Far From Home, in which he played villain Quentin Beck, aka Mysterio, opposite Tom Holland's Spider-Man.

The actor and Holland formed a close bond while working on the movie and spoke to Digital Spy last year about their bromance.

"As everyone knows, Tom Holland is a real pain in the ass. It's about wrangling that enormous ego of his and just making sure he stays where he is, says his line, does his job," Gyllenhaal joked.

"Every time I describe working with Tom Holland, it sounds like I'm describing my favourite cake, so I try and stay away from all the euphemisms. I think he's a great kid, he works really hard."

Meanwhile, last year Gyllenhaal also expressed regret over starring in 2010 movie Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time.
