Batman v Superman director Zack Snyder has mocked fan backlash against his decision to make Batman a killer.

Ben Affleck starred as the caped crusader in the 2016 film, which controversially saw the DC superhero kill a number of enemies.

The decision was met with backlash from some DC fans, who Snyder previously blasted for "living in a f**king dream world" regarding the killings.

And, as debate about that decision continues to rage, Snyder has at last managed to joke about it.

To celebrate the movie's fourth anniversary, Snyder hosted his own online viewing party of the film, during which he addressed the killings.

Recorded by fans who watched the broadcast, Snyder's commentary jokingly references to the killings by totally excusing Batman of all culpability in his decisions to kill and making cheeky references to a "PG-13 version" of the film.

"We should have done an A-team style shot of them getting up on the side of the road," Snyder said.

"For the PG-13 version."

"He shouldn't of pulled that grenade, that's his fault," he added.

Recently, Snyder has also taken the opportunity to take a swipe at the much-criticised Worlds of DC venture Justice League, which he was initially set to direct before handing the reigns to Joss Whedon.

A bitchy Snyder? Honestly, we're fans.

The Batman has a release date of June 25, 2021.
