Star Wars reveals Rey's final words to Ben Solo in The Rise of Skywalker

So much of Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker's plot wasn't included in the actual film, and it was left to interviews with director JJ Abrams, co-writer Chris Terrio, the Visual Dictionary book and other supplementary material to fill in the gaps.

And thanks to a new release, it's now been revealed what Rey's final words to Ben Solo/Kylo Ren were after their climactic battle against Emperor Palpatine.

The film's official novel, which has been written by Rae Carson and is released on March 19 in the UK (or March 17 in the US), has detailed a moment where Ben speaks to her after passing on.

The scene reads: "A voice came to her through the Force, clear and strong. 'I will always be with you,' Ben said. She smiled. Let the truth of it wash over her. 'No-one's ever really gone,' she whispered."

Do you see? It's a reference to the line Luke Skywalker says in The Last Jedi, that was also a prominent part of Rise of Skywalker's trailer. So it doesn't just reference the old Star Wars movies, it can reference itself too.

Another post-release revelation appeared to confirm that Jannah, the character that Lando Calrissian talked to in one scene, was actually his daughter, (they just couldn't resist, could they?), while we now also know how Kylo Ren joined the Knights of Ren as well.
