Disney has released the new trailer for their upcoming live-action remake of Mulan and it features a great Easter egg for fans of the original.

The thrilling new trailer continues to promise that this remake will break the mould by not just being a retread of an animated classic, but instead telling the story in its own way.

Yet it's clear that the original animation will still get some nods as the new trailer features a gorgeous orchestral version of 'Reflection', performed by Lea Salonga in the animation and covered by Christina Aguilera.

Tzi Ma, who plays Fa Mulan's father, recently told Digital Spy: "I believe this live-action film is superior to the animation, very importantly because of the leadership. Niki Caro is the director. She's bringing in this woman's point of view, which it needs to be because this movie is about a woman warrior.

"Liu Yifei, the woman who's playing Mulan, is in my mind one of the best actors out there. She's so engaging and compelling that I believe the audience will fall in love with her at first sight."

The film has also faced controversy over comments leading star Liu Yifei recently made regarding the tense political situation in Hong Kong.

Mulan will be released in cinemas on March 27, 2020.
