Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker has already broken a big Avengers: Endgame record.
The movie, which will be the final film in the Skywalker saga, isn't released until December 19 in the UK and December 20 in the US.
However, pre-sale tickets were available to buy from Monday (October 21) following the release of the final The Rise of Skywalker trailer.

According to US ticket site Atom Tickets, a new first-hour sales record was set by Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, following Avengers: Endgame setting the previous record earlier in the year.
The site reports that The Rise of Skywalker sold a whopping 45% more tickets that Endgame in its opening hours of pre-sale.
However, overall, the new Star Wars movie just fell behind Endgame in terms of first-day sales, but did sell 2.5 times as many tickets as The Last Jedi, setting a new record for the series.
But, what does that mean? Well, it puts Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker on a very good trajectory to break all kind of records when it's eventually released in cinemas.

But could it also knock Avengers: Endgame off the top spot and become the highest grossing movie of all time? The Force will decide, of course.
Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker has a release date of Thursday, December 19 in the UK and Friday, December 20 in the US.
