Godzilla vs Kong is bringing back some key players from Godzilla: King of the Monsters, but two stars have ruled out a return.

Millie Bobby Brown is coming back as Madison Russell, along with Kyle Chandler as Madison's father Dr Mark Russell and Zhang Ziyi as Monarch scientist Dr Ilene Chen, in the next movie in the MonsterVerse.

However, even though they survived the carnage of King of the Monsters, Charles Dance and O'Shea Jackson Jr confirmed to Digital Spy that they won't be seen in Godzilla vs Kong.

"I am not [in Godzilla vs Kong]. Well, not from my knowledge, I'm not," Dance explained, adding that he's not ruling out a return for his villainous eco-terrorist Colonel Alan Jonah in the future.

And O'Shea Jackson Jr's Jackson Barnes, head of the G-Team, won't be returning either to help out in the next battle. "No, they don't love me as much. I get it. I thought I was a joy on set," he joked.

Millie Bobby Brown added: "You are a joy. It's because this movie doesn't deserve [him] and the next movie, if there is one after that, Shea is going to play Godzilla."

The stars have also been talking about how the titans were brought to life on the sequel's set, with everything from balloons, beach balls and an eyebrow used for the huge monsters.

Godzilla: King of the Monsters is in cinemas now.
