Brandon Graham has explained the setup of his 8house project.

The newly-announced From Under Mountains will serve as a spinoff to Image Comics' upcoming series.


Writing on his Tumblr, the Prophet writer and artist said that 8House will be split into several miniseries by different creative teams.

Issues #1-4 will be 8house Arclight written by Graham and drawn by Marian Churchland and "about a women whose mind is trapped in the body of a monster that she projected herself into years ago".

8house Kiem by Graham and Xurxo Penalta will run in from #5-8 and "is about a soldier who is asked to fake her death in order to transport a mysterious box to an enemy house".

Issue #9-12's 8house Mirror will arrive from Emma Rios and Hwei Lim and issue #13 will launch Fil Barlow's 8house: Yorris.

Announced at Image Expo this week, the series will run for 12 issues and, though set in the 8house universe, will tell its own standalone story.

8house's release date is yet to be announced.
