Fantagraphics Books will release a print edition of Liz Suburbia's Sacred Heart.
The publisher will collect the webcomic, which the cartoonist is redrawing from scratch for the book.
Sacred Heart tells the story of a town in which all the adults have mysteriously vanished.
Their children are left to keep society going as best they can.
It is planned as the first of a five-volume story.
"This book is going to top off at about 300 pages, and is meant to stand on its own pretty well, but I do have three sequels planned eventually," Suburbia told Robot 6.
What to Read Next
"The next book will pick up ten years after this one, the third will be about 15 years after that, and in the last book the main character is going to be an octogenarian. I'm really excited at the prospect of making a comic whose hero is a little old lady."
The Sacred Heart graphic novel will be released in Summer 2015.
