A scene set in a gay club was cut from Sherlock's third series.
During an Apple Store Q&A session, actors Martin Freeman and Benedict Cumberbatch recalled shooting the sequence for the series's second episode 'The Sign of Three', as part of John Watson's drunken stag night.
"I regret there was one bit of that drunk stuff that was missing," Freeman revealed, "and that was the gay club scene. When we were absolutely mullered in the gay club!
"There were lots of topless men going past, and [Sherlock and John] are just like, 'Why are we here?'"
Cumberbatch went on to expand on Sherlock's reaction to the club-goers, remembering: "I [Sherlock] had no idea why they didn't have their clothes on, and eventually it dawned on me, and my grounding shook."
Asked why the scene had been cut, co-creator Steven Moffat explained that the original stag night sequence had been far too long.

"The first cut of that drunk scene was interminable, it would have killed you," he joked. "It went on and on and on..."
Freeman admitted that he initially had reservations about the script for 'The Sign of Three', which was criticised by some viewers for being overly comedic and emotional in tone.
