Almost 10 years after its release in November 2005, Microsoft is still issuing the Xbox 360 with updates, the most recent adding several big new features for those looking to leap to Xbox One.

Cloud storage space on the console has been expanded from 512 MB to 2GB, while game libraries now show which games will work across both consoles with its impending backward compatibility update.

A new Activity Feed showcases player activity across all Xbox platforms such as photos, Achievements, video clips and broadcasts from 360 through to Xbox One and Windows 10.

Similarly, Xbox 360 owners will finally see what Xbox One and Windows 10 players are up to from their friends' feeds.

Other small tweaks and updates include the ability to connect to networks that require Terms of Use to access (such as hotels, hospitals and other public areas), the ability to redeem a code direct from a message, Microsoft Movies & TV and Groove Music support, and more visible access to your account balance.

Backwards compatibility for Xbox 360 games on Xbox One was announced at E3 in June, where both digital and physical releases will run natively, allowing the use of new features such as screenshots and broadcasting.

Xbox One Preview members can make use of the feature today, while everyone else will gain access alongside a new system update later this year.

Microsoft recently said Xbox One sales are gaining momentum.
