Nintendo president Satoru Iwata is taking a 50% pay cut, it has been revealed.
It follows the firm's third-quarter financial report which has seen a decline of profits of 30% in the past nine months, according to AFP.
Iwata will have a reduced salary for five months, while other board members will also see reduced wages of between 20 and 30%.
The firm recently slashed its forecast for Wii U sales from 9m to 2.8m for the financial year, which Iwata has refused to resign over.
Nintendo recently confirmed it has no plans to develop games for smartphones.
Analyst Michael Pachter has suggested that Nintendo should go third-party.
