Nintendo Land is the first ever Wii U number one.
It is followed by fellow Nintendo title New Super Mario Bros U in second and Ubisoft's survival horror game ZombiU in third.
Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed is the highest-charting multi-platform title, above Batman: Arkham City - Armoured Edition, which includes all post-release DLC.
Ubisoft enjoyed a stellar first week of sales, with Sports Connection, Assassin's Creed 3 and Just Dance 4 charting at seven, eight and nine.
Mass Effect 3, FIFA 13 and Darksiders 2 all miss out on a top-ten spot, with the final position occupied by Tekken Tag Tournament 2.
