Splatoon is the fifth fastest-selling game on Wii U and replaces Zombi U as the biggest-selling new franchise.

Unfortunately for Nintendo, however, it fails to dislodge The Witcher 3 from the top of the all-format gaming chart.

Despite a 69% week-on-week drop in sales, The Witcher 3 remains first, ahead of the aforementioned Splatoon in second and GTA 5 in third.

A 51% hike in sales sees FIFA 15 remain fourth, above Farming Simulator 15, Battlefield Hardline, Project Cars and Destiny.

Mortal Kombat X and Minecraft: Xbox Edition complete this week's top ten.
