Naughty Dog has dished the dirt on Uncharted 4's multiplayer, confirming that all post-release maps and game modes will be available to everyone at no extra cost on the day they launch.

New vanity items like skins, hats and taunts can be unlocked through gameplay, alongside in-game items like weapons and boosters.

In-game items can be unlocked by earning relics, which are acquired by winning multiplayer matches and completing challenges.

You can use these relics to buy DLC Vanity Chests - full of skins, hats and taunts - or DLC Gameplay Chests, which contain weapons, boosters and mystical skills.

The contents of these chests are random, but Naughty Dog is keen to point out that you'll never receive the same items twice.

Alternatively, if you've got your eye on a specific weapon or skill and can't be bothered to wait, you can purchase Uncharted points and use them to immediately unlock the items you want.

Naughty Dog has also released an Uncharted 4 release schedule for the next year.

This summer will see the release of new maps, a new game mode, new boosters, a new mystical, a cinema replay feature, 50 new skins and 100 vanity items.

Co-op is coming in autumn - alongside lots more unlockables, maps and more - while more items are expected in winter and next spring.

The game will launch with modes that include Ranked, Command, Team Deathmatch, Plunder and Trials.

A recent delay means that Uncharted 4 will now be released on May 10 - two weeks after it was supposed to debut on April 26. This in itself was a delay from March, which was also a delay from late 2015.
