Sony seems to be ready to talk about the next PS4, currently codenamed the PS4 Neo.
The company has confirmed that it is holding a media event in New York on September 7 to discuss details "about the PlayStation business", according to invites sent to select media today.

Sony's talk will start at 3pm ET on September 7 at the PlayStation theatre, which equates to 8pm BST here in the UK.

It's worth noting that Sony is calling this event a PlayStation Meeting. That's exactly the same name for the event used to unveil the PS4 back in February 2013, which was held in the same venue in New York.

The next PS4, codenamed the "Neo" as confirmed by Sony's Andrew House, should be a counterpart to the Xbox One Project Scorpio that's due out in 2017.
It's going to support 4K output for games and video content, along with a number of other advancements.
Sadly, it's going to be more expensive than the current PS4, but that's because Sony won't sell the console at a loss. We're expecting it to retail for around the £350 launch price of the original PS4, so we're not talking mega bucks here.
It's also going to compete with the recently released 2TB Xbox One S, which just happens to have sold out everywhere. Maybe not so much of a competition then...
