The 3DS already hosts many Game Gear games to download, including several Sonic games, Shinobi, Defenders of Oasis and Columns.
Originally released in 1990, the Game Gear did an award-winning impression of the Master System's line-up, with Sega classics like Sonic, Street of Rage, Space Harrier and Ecco the Dolphin arriving on the system without concession.
However, the vast majority of the handheld's library was made up of Master System ports and third-party support was considered lacking.
