It looks like GTA 5 fans will be waiting a long time for single-player story DLC and new Heists.
Rockstar North director of design Imran Sarwar told IGN that the company is currently focused on GTA Online and can't spare the manpower for story DLC, despite previously promising a "substantial update".

Asked about the possibility of a story expansion, he said: "Right now our focus is on GTA Online which has exceeded our expectations.
"We currently have all key members of the team that launched Grand Theft Auto 5 focused on supporting GTA Online in every capacity."
Heists, meanwhile, may have been a huge success, but Sarwar said they were quite difficult to develop.

"Heists have been a huge success, and they really revitalized the GTA Online community," he continued.
"Heists encourage people to play together while giving them the chance to earn serious amounts of cash.
"However, as we've said before they were also a lot harder to make than we initially thought they would be, and it took us multiple tries to come up with the design that we eventually launched – but we believe and hope it was well worth the wait for everyone.
"They were a tremendous undertaking and for now we have other ideas for GTA Online that we're working to deliver."
GTA Online is getting a new Freemode next week, while console users will be able to make videos with Rockstar Editor.
Available from September 15, Freemode Events will give players access to a range of integrated games and challenges, including Hunt the Beast and King of the Castle.
