Grand Theft Auto 5 received over two million mentions on Twitter in a 24-hour period surrounding its release, it has been revealed.

The statistic was announced earlier today (September 17) by Twitter UK, with Rockstar Games's latest open-world adventure launching today as well.

The publisher has unveiled 45 new images to coincide with the game's arrival.
The official soundtrack for the game was recently released online. It features 86 tracks and is available on Spotify.
GTA 5 is now available worldwide for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.
