The Ultimate Collector's Edition for Final Fantasy XV is bloomin' expensive. Yes, it contains a lot of goodies, but it also costs a whopping £189.99. That amount could almost buy you a current-gen console.

To be fair, adverts for the Ultimate Collector's Edition state that it includes 'bonus content', but never make any explicit claims about DLC.

In spite of this, the announcement is certain to grind the gears of fans who may now end up paying over £200 to experience all the game's story missions. The Season Pass will cost players $25, which equates to £19, though no UK price has been officially announced.

Three of the planned DLC packs for Final Fantasy XV are named after Noctis' companions: Ignis, Gladio, and Prompto, leading players to believe that they will contain significant narrative content that expands their backstory.

DLC woes and delays aside, we previewed FFXV last week, and were cautiously optimistic about its fresh take on the JRPG format. Tabata may have cracked a FF formula that truly belongs in 2016.
