Arguably the best game in the entire series, Final Fantasy IX has finally made its debut on PC.

The game is currently available for the discounted price of £12.79 on Steam, which is down from the regular asking price of £15.99. But you'd better act quickly, the discount is only available until April 20.

The Steam version contains a bunch of new features, including Steam Trading Cards, high-definition movies and character models, cloud saves, auto saves and seven optional boosters.

These boosters include a high speed mode, a no encounter mode, options to automatically master weapons and gear, and the ability to maximise character levels.

Originally released in 2000, Final Fantasy IX has sold more than five million copies since its debut.

It follows the adventures of Zidane and his crew, who've kidnapped the heir of Alexandria - Princess Garnet.

Updated features include support for achievements, seven game boosters, as well as high-definition movies and character models.

The Steam release follows fresh on the heels of iOS and Android versions, which are available for £12.99.

It's a whopping 4GB download, which means you'll need 8GB to actually get it running - so good luck if you opted for a 16GB iPhone.
