The 18 emotes - which are set to be available later today (October 13) - can be bought in-game from Tower merchant Tess Everis with a new currency named Silver, which is purchased with real world money.
Developer Bungie will give every user some Silver, enough to purchase one or two emotes. Bungie has said micro-transactions will only be used to pay for optional, cosmetic items that won't affect gameplay.
