The Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare online multiplayer beta has been extended by 24 hours due to technical issues.

Matchmaking and server problems have plagued the beta, leading many players to be stuck in long queues before entering a game. Other users have found themselves forced to leave the lobby after every match as the next one takes too long to start.

The Infinite: Warfare beta is, for many users, a direct benefit of pre-ordering the full game. A shonky beta could result in cancelled orders, and Activision has taken direct action by extending the length of the online test. The beta will now finish on Tuesday, October 18 at 6pm BST.

Reaction to the beta on Reddit has been mixed, following the pattern of consumer ambivalence about the title since its announcement. Expectation regarding the Call of Duty series is higher than ever, and Infinity Ward, the current custodian of all things CoD, is getting a tough time from its user base, which is citing a variety of factors for its restlessness.

Activision and Infinity ward have little time to make major corrections, if they are indeed necessary. Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare releases alongside Modern Warfare Remastered on November 4.
