Apologising for a lack of updates, Infinity Ward's Mark Rubin told Twitter followers that the team was working hard on the game, before confirming next month's multiplayer reveal.
Sorry I haven't been on twitter much lately. We are in our death march push to finish game. Lots left to do. Looking forward to MP in august

When pressed for more information, Rubin said that the reveal would take place in mid-August, leading to speculation that it will be shown at the gamescom expo, which takes place from August 21 to 25.
Multiplayer maps will reportedly contain interactive areas and traps, while Spec Ops mode will be replaced by a new co-op mode "of sorts".
Unveiled during the Xbox One reveal earlier this year, Call of Duty: Ghosts will feature new characters as well as a new story and game engine.
